In Memory of
Janice "Gigi" Gier

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Janice Marie Donnelly Gier, known to so many of us simply as “Gigi.”

Janice was the beloved wife of David Gier Jr. for 53 years, and mother to Kory and Krista, who many of you know from our shop today, along with their siblings Katrina, Kyle, and Kara. She was Gigi to sixteen grandchildren, and a mother figure to so many more of us here at the mill, a name that captured just how much she meant to everyone lucky enough to know her.

For years, Janice could be found right here at Holland Bowl Mill, greeting guests with a warm smile and giving tours as if she were sharing her favorite secret. Behind the scenes, she was every bit as much a part of this business as the hands that shaped our bowls, raising a family alongside a growing mill and supporting this place in ways that quietly built what Holland Bowl Mill has become today.

We’ll be adjusting our hours this week so our team and family can be together. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time, and we’re grateful for the outpouring of love we’ve already felt from this community.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 9 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Dykstra Funeral Home, Mulder Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10 at 10:00am at Fellowship Reformed Church.
