Description
No. 10 is the largest piece in the Walnut Burl Collection, and the wood makes that scale count. The voids along the rim are deep and irregular, where the burl opened up during formation and was left exactly that way. The jagged live edge runs in sections around the perimeter, raw against the smooth turned body beneath it.
The interior grain is extraordinary. Rich amber and walnut tones swirl across the full surface in tight, complex patterns that burl wood produces and nothing else does. At seventeen inches, there is enough surface to take it all in.
Hand-turned at Holland Bowl Mill from reclaimed hardwood sourced right here in Holland, Michigan, No. 10 is the largest piece in the collection. Finished with Holland Bowl Mill’s Bee’s Oil, food-safe and long-lasting, applied to let the wood speak for itself.
There is no second piece like this one. This bowl was turned from a specific section of a specific reclaimed tree. Once it’s claimed, it cannot be remade.
