Description
The contrast on No. 7 is what makes it.
The body is cleanly turned, smooth and deep, with rich swirling burl grain covering the entire interior. Warm amber and dark walnut tones move across the surface in patterns that shift with the light. Then the rim breaks away into something rougher. The natural edge of the burl is jagged and uneven in places, raw where the wood opened up during formation, and left exactly that way.
It’s a piece that sits between functional and sculptural without fully committing to either, which is exactly what makes it interesting.
Hand-turned at Holland Bowl Mill from reclaimed hardwood sourced right here in Holland, Michigan, No. 7 is finished with Holland Bowl Mill’s Bee’s Oil, food-safe and long-lasting, applied to let the character of the wood speak for itself.
There is no second piece like this one. This bowl was turned from a specific section of a specific reclaimed tree. Once it’s claimed, it cannot be remade.
