How to Care for Your Wood Products
A little regular attention and these pieces look better with age, not worse. Here's everything you need to know.
Wash by hand with warm water, a small amount of mild soap, and a soft non-abrasive cloth. Dry immediately and thoroughly after washing. Finish by treating with Bee's Oil Wood Preserver.
Don't soak wood products or let water stand in a bowl. Keep them out of the dishwasher, microwave, and conventional oven. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight for extended periods.
All Holland Bowl Mill products ship pre-treated with Bee's Oil Wood Preserver. It's 100% food-safe and made from beeswax and natural oils. It penetrates deeply, protects against moisture and staining, and won't leave a sticky residue like vegetable oil does. Reapply every other month or whenever the wood looks dry.
Every Holland Bowl Mill bowl comes with a lifetime guarantee. If it ever cracks or warps from regular use, we replace it — no questions, no runaround. We make things to last because we believe that's what a product made by hand deserves.
Our bowls end up on family dinner tables, in commercial kitchens, at wedding receptions, and in corporate offices. They get used, appreciated, and passed down. That's not something you can manufacture — it's something you build, one bowl at a time, over generations.
If you're restoring a bowl that feels tacky from years of vegetable oil use, just apply lemon juice and pumice dust with a non-abrasive scrub pad. It may take a few rounds. Once the residue is gone you can wash it with warm soapy water, drying thoroughly. Finish by treating with Bee's Oil Wood Preserver.
