6 inch Ebonized Red Oak Bowl – Bee’s Oil Finish

Description

We create a rich, lustrous look on our wooden bowls by using a process called Ebonizing. We make the ebonizing solution from two common products, vinegar and steel wool. By soaking the steel wool overnight in a plastic container filled with vinegar, we create an iron solution. When this solution applies to the bowl, it reacts immediately, turning the Red Oak into a rich Royal Blue color. Ebonizing is a safe, easy way to create beautiful bowls with originality and character.

The craftsmen turn this solid Ebonized Red Oak wood bowl at the Holland Bowl Mill, one of the last commercial wood bowl mills in production in the United States. Great for Spices, Herbs, and Knick- Knack bowl for the office. Unique present for the holidays, weddings, housewarmings and birthdays! Wood grain will vary. Hand washes only.
